What is a degree audit?
When should I get a degree audit? You should request a degree audit once you have completed your College of Information core requirements for either the BS in Information Science for the Department of Library and Information Sciences or the BAAS in Applied Technology and Performance Improvement for the department of Learning Technology.
How do I request a degree audit?
1. Obtain copies of your transcripts:
2. Contact the department for your major and schedule an appointment with your academic counselor. Appointments can be either in person or conducted in a phone advising session. See Contact Us section for information.
3. During your appointment you will request your audit.
4. You must bring or email your transcripts (see #1) as well as catalog descriptions of all courses completed at other institutions. Note: the descriptions are especially important if you have transfer classes from other four year universities that you want to count toward your major requirements.
5. The academic counselor will complete a degree audit request form. If you are declaring a minor or double major, you may do so at the appointment. If you have already declared a minor or double major, be sure to notify the faculty advisor so that the additional requirements will be listed on your audit.
6. A copy of your degree audit will be given to you at the end of the appointment if meeting face to face or emailed to you if a phone advising session was conducted. Check MyUNT to ensure that your email address is correct.
